Getting to Know Provow

If you’ve lived in Western Kentucky for very long, there’s a good chance you’ve heard the name Provow. Maybe it was through a custom home. Maybe a remodel. Maybe a bathroom project, custom shower or a recommendation from a friend who said, “You should call the Provow boys.” What many people may not realize is that Provow has always been, first and foremost, a family business.

For us growing up, we didn’t really think of Provow as a company. It was just life. We remember riding to job sites with our dad, Tim. Carrying tools that were probably too heavy for us. Sweeping floors. Climbing ladders when we weren’t supposed to. Hearing conversations about customers at the dinner table and learning early that your name matters more than anything else.

Our dad started this business in 1991, and honestly, a lot of what makes Provow what it is today started long before any of us officially worked here. Back then, he took whatever work came along because that’s what you do when you’re building something from the ground up. Over time, the business grew through word of mouth, repeat customers and a reputation for doing quality work. Really, this all started with the way he treated people.

If he said he was going to show up, he showed up. If something needed fixing, he handled it. If a customer called, he called them back. Simple stuff, maybe. But the longer we do this, the more we realize that simple stuff matters.

Since then, the business has grown and changed quite a bit. What started in home improvement evolved into custom homes, remodeling, custom showers and now blinds, shutters, shades and closets. These days, we spend a lot of time helping homeowners create spaces that feel more functional, organized and custom. Dad still runs the show, while Travis focuses on the custom shower side of the business, and Tyler leads the closets and window treatments division. But we all pitch in when and where we’re needed, because that’s just what you do.

The funny thing is, even though the products and projects have changed over the years, the mindset really hasn’t. We still believe people want someone they can trust in their home. Someone who actually answers the phone. Someone who listens, pays attention to details and stands behind the work afterward. We believe relationships matter. And we still believe there’s something important about calling a company and talking directly to the person whose name is on the sign.

Some people know us because we built their house years ago. Some know us from bathroom remodels or custom showers. Others are just now finding us through closets or window treatments. Either way, the goal has been the same. Do good work and treat people right.

We also genuinely love this industry and the ways that the products keep evolving. There’s a lot more to window treatments and storage design than most people realize. Motorization, automation, custom sizing, light control, privacy, layout functionality. There are so many smart options available now, and we enjoy helping homeowners figure out what actually works for their space instead of just selling them whatever is easiest.

And while we’re always learning and staying current with new products and technology, we still believe the personal side of this business matters most. When you work with Provow, you’re getting us. The people whose name is on the truck. The people answering the phone, measuring the windows, installing the products and standing behind the work afterward.

We’re proud that this business has stayed family owned. Proud that customers continue recommending us to friends and family. Proud that our kids are already starting to take interest in what we do. Mostly, we’re just grateful. Grateful to do work we enjoy. Grateful for the people who trust us in their homes. And grateful that after all these years, we still get to work alongside our dad every day.

Thank you to the customers who have trusted us in their homes over the past 35 years. We’re proud of where Provow has been, and we’re excited to keep building on what started all those years ago.
